To Families and Friends of Patients

  • Our medical staff do not answer to questions about private matters of patients without their consent to protect their personal information.
  • Visitors may sometimes not be allowed because of the patients' symptomatic state. Please be forewarned.
  • It is possible to take measures not to allow visitors if the visit put undue stress on patients.

Please Follow the Rules Below.

  1. Please keep to the visiting hours, and keep quiet.
  2. Please respect visiting hours.
    • Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun. 14:00 - 16:00

    Visits outside the above hours are not allowed.

  3. Information counter is as follows. Please ask at the hospital ward of the patient. We may not answer questions about hospitalization status to protect the personal information of patient.

  4. Please go to the Nurse Station.
  5. Please refrain from visiting in large numbers or bringing small children to avoid increasing the burden on patients and making trouble to the other patients in the same room. Especially, do not bring infants because there is a possibility that they may pick up hospital infections here. Visitors may need to wear a mask and hand-wash in some wards.
  6. We cannot accept visitors who have a cold.
  7. Container-grown plants are not allowed. There are some wards which do not allow to bring flowers in order to prevent hospital infection. Please ask for details at Nurse Station.
  8. We may not respond to enquiries about the in-patients ward on the phone.

Parking

We don't charge outpatients parking fees.  There is a machine that validates parking tickets in the lobby of the outpatient ward.  For patients using a one-day-long patient card, the machine can not validate parking.  Please go to the counter labeled No.1, and show the receptionist a diagnosis or a certificate.  Hospitalized patients or patients who are to be hospitalized on the day of their visit must pay parking fees.

Rules in the Hospital

  1. Smoking is not allowed on the University Hospital property.
  2. Mobile Phones.
    Mobile phones must be turned off in areas where there are examination rooms, treatment rooms, and blood collection rooms.  Also in the ICU and the operation room areas, mobile phones must be turned off.  Mobile phones cannot be used near a patient using medical equipment or devices, such as pacemakers.

    People who come to our hospital should follow the following regulations concerning mobile phone use:

    1. Set the phone to manner (silent) mode in the hospital
    2. Use headphones when listening to any sounds, including music.
    3. Refrain from making long calls, and speak quietly.  Don’t use a mobile phone while walking.
    4. Sound recording, video recording, and taking pictures are prohibited.
    5. When using the Internet, wireless communication through an external modem is prohibited.
    6. In outpatient clinics, toilets, bathrooms in hospitalization wards, as well as milk-feeding rooms, the use of mobile phones is also prohibited. As well, in waiting rooms in the outpatient ward, regular and semi-private rooms in hospitalization wards, and in front of examination rooms, talking on mobile phones is prohibited.
    7. Hospitalized patients can use their mobile phones from 7:00 AM to 22:00 PM in their hospitalization ward.
    8. We do not accept any responsibility for breakage and loss of a mobile phone.
    9. Follow the instructions of our staff when clinical conditions change or our business is interrupted by the use of mobile phones.

    In locations where the use of mobile phones are prohibited, posters as shown below, are posted on the walls.

Other Information

  1. There are shops, restaurant, fruit shop, barber, dry-cleaning shop, flower shop in the hospital.
  2. You can use coin lockers near the outpatient department hall and Former Emergency Building entrance.
